ESnet provides 3 Codian MCU's each with a capacity of 40 video conferencing ports.  When the capacity of any given MCU has reached it's limit, the systems will default to audio only.  This ensures that users can at a minimum listen to a conference in progress.

If you create a new conference and experience audio only, please try another MCU prefix.  Currently these are 82, 85, and the familiar 88 prefixes.  Usage on 82 and 85 prefixes is considerably lighter than 88; therefore, we encourage you to use them and enjoy the exact same features on all 3 of our Codian MCU's.

NetMeeting, CU-SeeMe, and Smith-Micro, are NOT supported for video and audio conferencing on ESnet.

Open Source and commercial clients must throttle their systems to 1024 kbps or less to be able to make a call. Gnomemeeting users follow these instructions. OhPhoneX and X-Meeting clients and commercial systems can set the bit rate to 1024 kbps or less in the configuration menus.

Occasionally email spam filters block our responses to customers. If you do not hear from us for more than 24 hours, please send your inquiry to trouble@es.net or call 1-800-333-7638 or 1-510-486-7600 (outside the U.S.).
